What is the Foundation?
The executive council of the Foundation is made up by representatives of Brussels Capital Region, the Belgian Comic Strip Center, Standaard Uitgeverij as the publisher of Nibbs, the daily paper De Standaard and a representative of Marc Sleen himself.
The Marc Sleen Foundation does not only preserve the immense life work of Marc Sleen, it also makes every effort to protect it and to promote it to a large public. Of vital importance here are the 15.000 originals of Marc Sleen that make up the Foundation’s collection. All throughout the year a selection of originals, turning on a regular basis, is shown to the public in the Gallery of the Marc Sleen Museum. Finally the Foundation wants to keep Marc Sleen’s works alive through new translations and editions of rare or less known works.
