Helene Lespagnard (Antwerp, 1998) is an illustrator and cartoonist. She graduated in 2020 as Master Graphic Storytelling at the LUCA school of Arts in Brussels and followed an Erasmus at Erg (Saint-Luc École de recherche graphique). She draws inspiration from everyday life and coincidences she collects in her sketchbook. She is fascinated by the unique characters of animals that often play a role in her work.

Victor Pellet
Victor Pellet (° Geneva, 1992) is a graduate of ESA Saint-Luc, Brussels, where he majored in Comic Strip / Publishing. After arriving in Brussels to pursue his studies in 2014, he never left. His first publication ‘La Promotion’ is set to come out in March 2022 and deals with the issue of children who are placed with foster families. He is currently working on a new graphic novel in close association with Rafaël Klepfish.

Julia Reynaud
Julia Reynaud (1993) After two years studying Illustration at the École Estienne (Graduate School of Arts and Printing Industry) in Paris, Julia Reynaud decided to focus on comic strips and embarked on her Bachelor's followed by her Master's degree in Comic Strip / Publishing at St-Luc, Brussels, where she was the 2020 winner of the Raymond Leblanc Award. Julia Reynaud is currently working on her first comic strip entitled ‘Le Bel Alex’ (Handsome Alex), with a narrative that revolves around the notion of beauty in modern-day society.

Lode Peeters
Lode Peeters uses his time in the museum to finish his second graphic novel 'Meisjes van Medusa' on scenario by Frederik Hautain. The album will be published by Standaard Uitgeverij in 2023. Lode's debut 'Drakenridders' was published by Dutch publisher Menlu in 2021.

Thibau Vande Voorde (Leuven, 1995) ‘De Kever en De Koning’ (The Beetle and the King), his master's project at Sint-Lukas in Brussels, is a psychological exploration of Belgium's colonial past. Thibau is now reworking this story with a view to publishing an album.

Eliot Vandenheede (Brussels, 1996), having always had a fascination for mysteries and police investigations, he even did an internship with the police to give a keen sense of realism to his comic strips. This drives him to tell stories firmly anchored in the realm of the real. Eliot studied at Saint-Luc in Brussels.

Mattias Ysebaert
Mattias Ysebaert (Vilvoorde, 1995) achieved a diploma in Graphic Storytelling at the LUCA School of Arts in Brussels. ‘Uitzicht met Kamer’ (View with a Room), a story about a young woman, living in Brussels, who can see ghosts, is his début publication and was issued in February 2020. In the cube, he is working on ‘Inbreker’ (Burglar), a comic strip in which mythological beings, dead animals and half-naked women meet one another.

Miel Vandepitte
Miel Vandepitte (° 1998, Vilvoorde) has spent most of his life living in Ghent. Having studied Graphic Storytelling at the Luca School of Arts in Brussels, he spent one semester in Portland, Oregon as part of an exchange project. Since then, he has specialised in creating illustrations that are teeming with buildings, architecture and perspectives. His debut album entitled ‘Centralia’, which he completed at the Kubus (Cube), was published by Scratch Books in the Netherlands.

Anneka Robeyns
Anneka Robeyns (° 1995, Antwerp) obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics and Literature (E-N) from Leuven University (KULeuven), followed by a Master’s degree in Western Literature. Having enrolled for the Comic Strip degree course, in 2021 she graduated from the LUCA School of Arts in Brussels. Her final project ‘Bubbel van één’ (Bubble of one) won her the inaugural Knalgele Kubus Trofee (Bright Yellow Cube Trophy). In addition to a crystal cube and a 1,500 euro cash prize, she also won a paid residency at the Marc Sleen Museum where she is now developing her story to the point when it is ready to be published.

Karolina Szejda (Ełk, 1995) was born in Poland, but has lived in Brussels since she was six. In 2019, she graduated from the LUCA School of Arts in Brussels. She makes illustrations and comic strips that are usually based on her own life and offers drawing lessons to children. In the cube, she is working on ‘Tram 5’, a story about her father and his daughter.

Stephan Louwes (Leuven, 1993), graduated from the LUCA School of Arts in Brussels. His début, an improved version of his master’s project ‘Limbo, Lux in Tenebris’, was first seen in 2019 at Oogachtend. In the cube, he is working on its successor.
